This is a crowd favorite when we play it live, and it came from a night when Joshua and I (Jeremy) were drinking and hanging out at his old apartment when we were first putting together music. The earliest version I can find is August of 2015. There's a La Dispute reference in the second verse that I'm pretty proud of. I tell my wife every time that particular song comes on when we're driving somewhere. Learn that last chorus and shout it with us when shows come back!
lyrics
Verse 1:
Hey baby why don’t we have another drink
It’s been a long day we don’t need to think
Place your hand in mine and we’ll have a good time
Where did your friend go? I need another line
Prechorus 1:
I’m so fucked up I can’t see straight
My words begin to slur
Morning comes too early
This night is just a blur
Chorus:
So buy another round, put down your glass of wine
Shots all around to help us unwind
We can drink, drink, drink the night away until we’re on the floor
Have the barkeep call us a cab. Here, take my keys.
When we get home can you unlock the door?
Verse 2:
And so we’ll get drunk on Tuesday night
It’s alright hon, you can miss your early flight
Stay up ‘til 3 a.m., watch reruns of Cheers
Reserves go up with bottles and down with (the) beers
Prechorus 2:
I’m so fucked up I can’t see straight
My words begin to slur
Morning comes too early
This night is just a blur
Chorus:
So buy another round, put down your glass of wine
Shots all around to help us unwind
We can drink, drink, drink the night away until we’re on the floor
Have the barkeep call us a cab. Here, take my keys.
When we get home can you unlock the door?
