Verse Got some news today, the overtime it just ain't coming The check’s a little light this week, dear Bank account is getting close to nothing If corporate slips again we'll all be seeing pink Coming home I can't relax. This job is taking over My soul can't take much more I know we've got them bills to pay but this just ain't worth it More human than resource Chorus You don't own my dinosaur brain Debts are coming due The rock and the place I can't squeeze through No choice but to break break break Verse Coming home I can’t relax, apprehension keeps me static I’ve got too much time to think Let's chase the good life across Nebraska, our arm out the window holding the door shut cuz it's all fucking broken Chorus You don't own my dinosaur brain Debts are coming due The rock and the place I can't squeeze through No choice but to break break break

Prairie Fire 02:08
Verse 1: Hey baby why don’t we have another drink It’s been a long day we don’t need to think Place your hand in mine and we’ll have a good time Where did your friend go? I need another line Prechorus 1: I’m so fucked up I can’t see straight My words begin to slur Morning comes too early This night is just a blur Chorus: So buy another round, put down your glass of wine Shots all around to help us unwind We can drink, drink, drink the night away until we’re on the floor Have the barkeep call us a cab. Here, take my keys. When we get home can you unlock the door? Verse 2: And so we’ll get drunk on Tuesday night It’s alright hon, you can miss your early flight Stay up ‘til 3 a.m., watch reruns of Cheers Reserves go up with bottles and down with (the) beers Prechorus 2: I’m so fucked up I can’t see straight My words begin to slur Morning comes too early This night is just a blur Chorus: So buy another round, put down your glass of wine Shots all around to help us unwind We can drink, drink, drink the night away until we’re on the floor Have the barkeep call us a cab. Here, take my keys. When we get home can you unlock the door?

about

This song is our rail against the insanity of the modern work culture and the stresses of trying to make ends meet in a society without a living wage. We have all been on the verge of quitting jobs due to burn out since we started this song, and we dedicate it to those feelings.
